NVAC hopes to increase access and exposure to choral music to traditionally underserved communities and to youths, especially outside of academic environments. Some of NVAC's events will be free and open to anyone—including those with no prior musical or singing experience. One of our goals is forming strong linkages between community members (particularly seniors and youths), community groups, and schools where music programs are still in place.
Our mission is to enrich Northern California communities through the promotion and preservation of the vocal arts, to foster appreciation of choral music and musical diversity in our community and nurture the fellowship that arises from communal singing.
We are different ages and in different stages of life, but came together through choir and formed lasting friendships. We hope NorCal Vocal Arts Community will help others do the same—and offer fun, educational, accessible singing opportunities for everyone in the greater community.
