Gage Purdy is a Music Director with a keen and eager passion for cultivating the emotional heart and beauty of choral music with 14+ years of organizing and motivating musicians.
With a comprehensive background in varied forms of musical performance, education, and study, I aim to promote the enjoyment of choral music for both the musician and the audience. I have developed a life-long love of research and learning through which I always push myself to understand a composition in its most pure form.
I believe that music is a way by which to unite people in the human experience of being close and harmonious with one another; that music fundamentally shapes the mind and changes the heart to be more joyful, more passionate, and perhaps a little better equipped to find light in our world.

Gage was born and raised in beautiful Sonoma County, and he is thrilled to be a part of the thriving and vibrant musical community in Northern California. He has sung in many groups throughout Sonoma County, and he is fortunate enough to be the director of five choirs throughout the region (California Redwood Chorale, Occidental Community Choir, Manzanita Harmony, UUCSR, and the UUCSR Justice Choir)!

Many thanks to my wife, Crystal, and our two sons, Bodhi and Finn, for making it possible to make music for a living—without their support, this would never have happened.
Inclusivity Document - This is a living document by which I commit my ensembles to make social progress through music and community involvement.
Justice Choir Movement - The Justice Choir is a template to encourage more community singing for social and environmental justice. Designed around the Justice Choir Songbook, their goal is a grassroots movement to engage in the empathetic, collaborative, and collective power of singing together to create change. More like a civic organization than a typical musical ensemble, a Justice Choir chapter’s programming and messaging revolve primarily around local issues and the urgency of current events.
